More or less Let's just say it's not necessarily mass adoption right now to be perfectly fair but what we are trying to do is really bring the best of both worlds for the end user and it really is at the end user in mind.
Masseria Lamacoppa, An Italian Country House
Before you buy the property have they septic system inspected. Any septic pumping company can do it. As for pest control, just make sure the house is properly sealed all the way around. What I mean is make sure there are NO small holes or crevices where mice or rodents can enter. BUT, that would apply whether you live in the city or the country.
Use These Ideas and Be Smart Home Owners
Yeah without a doubt. There were so many smart things and everything at every event that we went to huge amounts of Smart home and connected home. However you want to call that space. It was everywhere.
I might argue that the second evening press event was half connected products. It sure seemed that way. So a lot to look at. We had an opportunity to talk to some of the vendors some that we've talked to before. Some are new. I think we saw some really interesting stuff. So let's start with those. Let's start with the interviews we had a chance to do on the floor. We are going to talk a little bit about what some of our favorites were out there.
I don't like the idea of having to use a custom application for every type of label that I have. What. We're here with Daniel and he's going to tell us about a new product that's going to work with our existing systems. What does this product called it and how do I get it in my hands.
So if you already have a sense on smart things or you have a string of fi setup or control control saying your home is decked out in AT&T digital life or Comcast expending home you can use our bulbs our hubs with those systems and use those platforms to control all of those. You can also use an old app to do more functions
but you don't have to. And that's where we really find the value for the customer is they don't want to use multiple afterwards the same thing which is turn on our thighbone which is exactly what we're trying to get at is how to help customers simplify their life. What if you have a dimmer installed on your wall. And you have this label. It's not going to work right.
Well so that's actually what we focus our engineering efforts on is to make it compatible. If you get a single LMM Plus you can put that bulb a 19 bulb on a wall dimmer you can control it on a swallow's them through the wall dimmer and you can crank it all the way down or all the way up and you'll still work you won't burn out. We stand by our twenty five thousand hour warranty and it works. What type of system so you can basically use that for your bedroom living room or anywhere you have a dimmer installed.
And nobody else is doing that right now. So I have to assume that this is crazy expensive right.
Is that something that you buy separately. Is that a part of the kit. How do you make that available to customers.
So we sell the hub in a kit where it comes with two lightbulbs and a single hub and you can have as many helps as you wanting a home. But each hub will support up to 50 Leipold so I don't think anybody is going to have more than one or two. These hubs will also work with other platforms such as Amazon Ecko and going for Google home. So we're actively integrating our hub into those ecosystems as well.
Well this is an amazing product. As I mentioned I am a skeptic and you have the thing that caught my attention the most on the floor so far. Have a great show. Thank you very much for your time. Thank you very much. Thank you Richard. Unveiled. We're talking with the folks behind blink. And if that name sounds familiar it's because last year at unveiled they made a big splash with their all in one security cam. And this year there is again I'm talking with Peter Besson one of the founders. And you know last year it was this cool little box it was a camera and a sensor. Now
they have a siren. They have water sensors. They have sensors and keypads and the big news in my opinion is a 4G cellular connection to power all of this. Tell us about your new offering.
People not only wanted protection in their house they want to protect the outside of the house. These cameras would be placed anywhere outside your house pointing at your doors pointing at your windows and actually stop intrusion before anyone gets in. I actually use it to find like a squirrel hiding in my detached garage.
I've seen many people take very interesting pictures with there are loads. So a similar kind of concept.
All right we're going to we're going to interrupt right there.
Well we were a chip company we were developing special low power silicon which we realized would be a great application and battery powered cameras. The main trick to our cameras. It's not on in less Motion's occurring. One of the keys to that is to make sure that electron is in power up instantly. That's a feature in our silicon from no power to first video is less than 100 milliseconds less than a tenth of a second. So you never miss any of the video. In fact if you look at some of the other products when they turn on it takes in one or two seconds. That's miss critical motion time that you don't see
Are there other products that we're seeing on the table here that aren't out yet that will also be released this year or is everything else available same time as the sell products release some standard requested the sensors entry sensors for doors and windows. A water sensor to tell if you have a water leak in your house and a key pad to be able to have friends who may not have the application be able to enter your house with a code punch a code and disarm the system.
Very great product. Thank you very much for your time this. I appreciate it. Thank you very much for coming back. So. Pepp come 2017.
We are in the booth and we're seeing that seat by the table and the lamp that integrates the A-life that you're familiar with in the Amazon echo with a dual color lighting ring.
There were a lot of stories about how this was kind of a lab project Verjee but I want to find out how this works how people are going to be able to get it and what its capabilities are. So I'm talking to Alicia. Tell me about how this came to be. And where are you going with it sir.
Well connected is definitely part of our overall strategy. The lighting we see that smart homes face growing about three fold over the next few years it's definitely an area of focus for us and we really thought voice integration really coming to life and a lot of products. So we thought wouldn't it be great to integrate that goodness inside a lighting product. So we started working with Amazon and what you're looking at is actually the first integration of the Amazon voice service embedded directly inside our lighting product. So it eliminates the need for a standalone Acco unit separate Hobb a separate remote super simple you get all the great benefits that you'd find in a traditional
eco unit plus a function or illuminating and really cool looking at Lady table lamp and I want to be really clear about this because I don't know if everybody does understand this.
.
That's correct. That's absolutely correct and that's why we're working with Amazon closely on this and it's actually part of their business model and they're looking to work with other companies in other categories in that same capacity as well.
So now you look at this lab it's very contemporary is decidedly contemporary. It's ultramodern I might say. I might imagine that someone on the team. Really Likes Stairgate when that was out. And so I wonder is this technology going to be built into other types of designs other lighting fixtures that we may be looking at releasing in the future. Or you want to see how this does first.
It definitely could be and it's certainly something that we're looking to make a fool category out of. So right now you're getting this really cool contemporary design.
We wanted something simple and form factor that would allow your interactions with the product to come to life rather than some bulky type of design. So a longer product extension is something that we're definitely looking at. And so you could see this come to life in other forms and shapes across the coming years.
Now. It looks like it has two different color light rings.
How does that work what you're looking at right now is both an inner ring light and an outer ring light. So the outer ring light is a 60 watt equivalent. We'll be talking about color temperatures. And our next round of product introductions will talk about the preordering window the inner ring is actually the interaction so similar to how you talk to an eco unit and you'd say what's the weather as she's thinking she's responding as she's listening to that top ring would turn blue. It would flash when she's thinking that's what the inner ring is designed to do. But it could definitely incorporate some other color temperatures as we get to final form here.
So that inner ring is kind of like the outer ring on the top of an eco device. It's actually is a very cool product. We're excited to see this happen.
